OASIS Strike Groundbreaking Membership Deal with ASTA Recently, OTN created a membership deal with the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), resulting in all of OTN’s’ more than 800 members becoming members of ASTA. The partnership allows us to integrate ASTA memberships into the suite of benefits for our members, with all OTN agents becoming ASTA members as soon as they move over to the new OTN Build-A-Plan program. ASTA membership benefits are vast, including discounts on health care premiums, advocacy, training, lead generation, and more. Host agency OASIS Travel Network has reported its strongest first two quarters in its history. Land and cruise sales from January to June rose 52 percent compared to the same period in 2017. The agency’s record period saw increased overall sales and new bookings. In May it also distributed its largest commission payment ever, near half a million dollars. OASIS Travel Network, in the business for over 30 years, provides access to training and education. Its program New2Travel offers a guide for people new to the travel industry looking to start their own business. Included in the program are 15 customized modules to achieve Signature Travel Network certification, CLIA/IATAN cards, ongoing training webinars and a cruise itinerary and price tracking system. Every 3 months we welcome a new group of people to Boca Raton, FL for our New2Travel boot camp. Some of the folks that attend are experienced travel professionals that are brushing up on supplier products, but most are new to our fabulous travel industry. They have finished the required online training and are now ready to take the next step into their new travel career. They are excited. Our staff here at OASIS Travel Network, that runs the New2Travel program, is excited also. We welcome them with open arms and hugs. We have gotten to know these folks over the past couple of weeks and months since they first signed up for our new to industry program. It is not an inexpensive program, but nothing worth anything is. We know that learning about a few suppliers and some geography is not going to get a travel business off the ground. We know what it takes to be successful and so we have created a program that teaches about cruise, land vacations, hotels, etc. More importantly we offer training on consulting, social media, marketing and arrange mentoring if desired. It’s also important that the information you send is of interest to your client. OTN gathers info about clients’ interests, stores it for our members and only sends relevant emails. Direct mail is another way to generate leads. OTN mails high quality pieces about destinations, products, and promotions with the agent’s logo and branding.
